Cream Cheese Pound Cake

At the request of several friends, here is my Momma's "secret" Cream Cheese Pound Cake Recipe. Enjoy!!



Ingredients:

3¼ c cake flour (or 3 cups minus 2 Tbsp All Purpose Flour)

¼ tsp salt

½ tsp baking powder

1 8oz pkg cream cheese, softened

3 sticks butter, softened

3 c sugar

6 eggs

1 Tbsp vanilla

Instructions:

Sift flour, salt, and baking powder together three times. Set aside.

Beat Cream Cheese, Butter, and sugar until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Add dry ingredients to butter mixture, a small amount at a time.

Add vanilla.

Pour into a greased and floured tube or Bundt pan.

Bake at 300 degrees for an hour and a half or until center is set when tested with toothpick.

Cool in pan 3-5 minutes before turning out onto serving platter.

Comments:

It really is necessary to sift the dry ingredients three times to get the desired texture.
